Job Description
ARC Programs is now accepting applications for a Residential Youth Worker to fill a full-time rotating relief position in our two-bed staffed resources, located in Kelowna and West Kelowna. Working as part of a collaborative case management team, the Residential Youth Worker will provide for the physical care and emotional nurturing of youth living in the homes, and will provide skilled intervention and supervision, while supporting clients to develop healthy lifestyles and appropriate behaviors. Applicants for this competition will work varied 8-hour morning and afternoon shift rotations to cover ongoing staff vacations and leaves. Although this is an on-call position, the applicant can expect to work full-time hours, rotating between each of the homes, and will be eligible for benefits as described below. The position requires sufficient training and experience to perform all responsibilities of the job description. Qualifications include a Degree, Diploma or Certificate in a related field (ie: Social Work, Human Service Worker, Child & Youth Care, Community Support Worker) or a combination of relevant training and experience. Ideally candidates will have experience working with high risk children and youth with complex behavioral challenges, and preferably in a residential setting. Starting wages, dependent on qualifications for full-time relief Residential Youth Worker positions range from $23.90 per hour, to $25.00 per hour. Full-Time Relief employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package (including dental plan, vision care coverage, life insurance, extended medical coverage - massage, chiropractor, physiotherapy etc, as well as long-term disability and RRSP contributions). New employees are also eligible for 3-weeks paid vacation to start along with paid sick days as needed.
