Apprentice Carpenters & Skilled Labourers Weninger Construction & Design Ltd Kelowna, BC $17 - $26 an hour - Full-time, Permanent Weninger Construction is a family-owned construction company that is known for taking on high end and custom projects, both new builds and renovations. We are a full-service contracting company that takes on a wide variety of work throughout the Okanagan, but especially up at Big White Ski Resort, so we need team members who are well-rounded with diverse experiences in the construction industry. We typically build high-end custom homes, so the job tasks are diverse, the finished homes are beautiful, and we work hard to create a healthy and inclusive work environment that prioritizes high-quality work done safely. Weninger Construction recognizes that our team is our best asset, and we're looking to add to our already exemplary team with a few more skilled tradesmen and construction labourers. Finding the right fit for our team is important, as we invest a lot into training our workers and supporting each employee's career and educational goals, because we want a strong team that feels motivated to work hard for a company that cares about them. As Weninger Construction handles new builds throughout every stage of construction, from forms/foundation, to framing, to interior and exterior finishing with much custom detail, we are really looking for workers with an existing well-rounded skill set and/or a drive to learn and develop their construction and carpentry capabilities. We are seeking 4+ full-time, permanent employees to begin with us between as soon as possible. These positions include: Carpenters with 5+ years of experience (posted separately here: Apprentice Carpenters with 1+ year of on-site experience and/or apprenticeship education ($20-25/hour base wage) Construction Labourers , on-site experience an asset but not a requirement ($17-21/hour base wage with long-term opportunities for apprenticeship) All Applicants Should: Be available to begin work as soon as possible (June 14 preferred) Be able to work on jobsites both at Big White Ski Resort and in Kelowna Be able to work in Canada (work visa must not expire before December 2021) Well-rounded experience in multiple stages of residential and commercial construction and renovation an asset for Carpenter and Apprentice Carpenter positions Be motivated to work hard with and without supervision, and open to training opportunities Enjoy variety in job tasks and understand the importance of a culture of safety Value high quality, and take pride in a job well done Be a quick learner and eager to learn new things, as much of the work we do is custom and poses unique challenges Be able to work well independently, on small teams, and also in a larger crew Be able to work full-time, Monday to Friday Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8 hour days, 40 hour weeks) Long-term/permanent (will consider seasonal candidates as well, but year round preferred) Starting base wage TBD based on carpentry experience and position ($17-26 per hour for Skilled Labourer and Apprentice positions) All positions also receive an additional $5 per hour (to a max of $40/day) when traveling to a remote site (e.g., from Kelowna to Big White) Extended Benefit plan offered after 3 months Other annual performance based compensation offered to permanent employees Weninger Construction sees the value in having a diverse workforce and creating a welcoming and inclusive work environment, so all experienced carpenters are encouraged to apply.
