Job Description
VALLEY COMFORT SYSTEMS, the manufacturer of BLAZE KING quality wood and gas stoves has immediate openings for PRODUCTION WELDERS with wire feed / MIG experience at our Penticton facility. This position may be day shift (Mon-Thurs 6am-3pm, Fri 6am-12pm) or (after adequate training) afternoon shift (Mon-Thurs 2:30pm- 1am). We are looking for people with a “can-do” attitude to join the team in our fast paced manufacturing environment. Our welders work together in a production “flow” environment and the ability and initiative to cross train and learn various tasks is a highly desired employee trait. We welcome recent grads or current students in the Okanagan College welding program and we are proud to sponsor Welding and Fabricating apprentices! We also have positions for Production Workers for various stages of manufacturing. Familiarity with hand tools, ability to read a tape measure, follow shop drawings, and attention to detail are desired skills. These positions require some heavy lifting and may involve tasks other than welding, such as assembly of riveted parts, grinding, spot welding, and other miscellaneous tasks as required. Valley Comfort Systems offers the right candidates a great compensation package including a competitive starting wage and a benefit package after a 3 month probationary period. Within the first year of employment, our compensation package also includes an employee share purchase plan, safety boot allowance, and matching RRSP program. All employees are also eligible for annual bonuses dependent on personal performance and company profitability. We are a team that works hard but likes to have fun. Due to the pandemic, we have dialed back our social committee functions, but we continue to have occasional lunches to celebrate our successes, with proper safety precautions in place.
